Parody of "A Bird, came down the Walk" by Emily Dickinson

by Cameron Glass

A Man, came down the Subway. He did not know I saw,

He picked his nose, an awful sight And ate the fellow, raw.

And then, he drank a soda,

From a convenient bottle,

And then he walked up to closed train doors And pried them open with throttle.

He glanced with rapid eyes,

He yelled about George Clooney.

They looked frightened, the passengers

Of a classic New York Looney

Like one in danger, Cautious,

I tried to stop the train.

I couldn't bear the passengers' faces. They couldn't bear this pain.

The train it did depart,

the passengers cried their ways,

Those poor New Yorkers, they had to see Another subway craze
